About

The Story

In this venture, I bring with me my personality, my sense of humour, my knowledge, my experience, and most importantly, my heart.

With over 16 years experience in the field of Women's and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy, I've been fortunate enough to work in the largest Maternity hospital in Australia, liaised alongside specialist Gynecologists, Urogynaecologists, Colorectal surgeons and Pain Doctors, and treated countless male, female and non-binary patients across the lifespan from teenage years to the elderly.

I have studied at a post graduate level and attended many advanced courses in pelvic health; taught university students both on an undergraduate and postgraduate level; presented at international conferences; headed the Allied Health teams for Persistent Pelvic Pain clinics in the areas of Endometriosis and Pelvic Mesh injuries; and worked in both the public and private sectors of health and Physiotherapy.

After a long time in public health, I started back in private practice a few years ago, and since then I have been acutely aware of the need for quality accessible pelvic healthcare for ALL people. This has led me to cultivating relationships and educating medical specialists on the role of physio in pelvic health and I now provide services to pelvic health specialty areas across the Sunshine Coast in Qld, Australia.

At the same time this took me on the path of commencing my venture into mentoring the up and coming generation of pelvic health professionals.  While amazing courses exist for practical skills and theoretical knowledge, I feel the area of clinical reasoning is lacking, and thus confidence in practice is suffering.

Pelvic health is complex, and optimal patient care comes with experience, which when you work remotely or as a stand alone clinician is extremely difficult to navigate!  In my venture for quality pelvic health care for all, mentoring to other health professionals was a must.

With all that said, this has brought me to found Jaime Singleton Physiotherapy: Women's and Pelvic Health: an all-inclusive educational platform of varying avenues including seeing me in clinic as a patient; online educational content via my podcast "Beyond Your Bits: Lessons From Down Under"
and my Instagram page; and working with me in pelvic health mentoring.  With this combined approach, I hope to enable women, men, non-binary people and health professionals alike from ALL walks of life to have the tools to empower pelvic health for all!
